授業の概要
This course presents an historical overview of the exciting world of art, from the time of the ancient Greeks and Romans to today’s world of modern art and abstract expressionism. The objective is to give students a good understanding of how art has evolved from being viewed as not only a work of beauty but also a work which makes a compelling statement.
到達目標
Students will explore various slides of art and describe what they see and feel about them. A strong emphasis is on language skills to facilitate accurate usage through communication about the arts. Students are required to give an oral presentation on one of their favorite works or, if they wish to, their own original work. In addition, students will express themselves through a personalized folder, in which weekly journal entries and collection assignments will be housed and checked periodically.
