授業の概要

This course is designed to build speaking and listening skills. Students will have opportunities to (1) listen to a variety of spoken conversations based on authentic sources; (2) learn strategies for developing their listening and speaking skills; (3) learn to recognize and use a variety of expressions, and (4) interct with the teacher and each other in English. Regular homework assignments will supplement class work. A detailed course outline will be handed out on the first day of class.

到達目標

Goals for this course are:(a) Students will acquire vocabulary and language structures useful for talking about topics such as personal history and experiences, educational goals, cultural ideas. feelings, intentions and opinions.(b) Students will gain awareness of what effective communication is in a variety of situations and places, especially within a communicative English classroom.(c) Students will be able to use strategies and skills to acquire proficiency in the following areas: making introductions, expressing emotions, responding to others' feelings, sharing personal experiences, apologizing, giving reasons, and talking about culture,(d) Students will be able to use strategies and skills to develop their fluency and monitor the accuracy of their English.(e) Students will experience the benefits of cooperative learning in pairs and small groups and will gain a deeper sense of themselves as autonomous learners.
