授業の概要
英語でeesayを書くのがこの授業の主たる内容である。但し、英語のエッセーを書く場合にはパラグラフの構造を理解した上で書かないと、意図するところが伝わらない。したがって、このクラスでは、Topic sentence, Supporting details, Conclusion からなるパラグラフの構造をしっかりと学び、その上でエッセーを書くことになる。

到達目標
受講生はパラグラフの構造を理解した上で、セメスター終了時には、ひとつのパラグラフからなるエッセーを最低二つ、五つのパラグラフからなるエッセーを最低一つ書いて提出する。その過程で、担当者は英語の間違いの添削指導、および、構造的な問題がないかをチェックする。受講者はチェックを受けたものをさらに推敲してタイプして提出するものとする。

第5回目
Writing a paragraph Write a paragpraph that describes one quality of one　member of your family. Think and write.

第6回目
Correction of the essays written by the students Students will be given the opportunity to rewrite their essays paying close attention to what was pointed out by the instructor. Learn from your mistakes.

第7回目
Writing a second essay Write a one-paragraph essay about a trip you have taken. Think and write.

第8回目
Checking of the essays written by the studetns and the process of rewriting Typical mistakes committed by the studetns will be pointed out. Students will be given the opportunity to brush up their essays. Critical thinking.

第9回目
The introduction of five-paragraph essay. The inroduction of new concepts of thesis statement. Students choose a thseis statement and write an outline of the 5 paragraph essay. Critical thinking.

第10回目
Checking of the outline The instructor checks the outlines written by the studetns and point out the typical mistakes so that students will grasp the idea of outline thoroughly. Critical thinking.

第11回目
The concept of introverted triangle of the introductory paragraph will be introduced Students will be required to write an introductory paragraph Critical thinking.

第12回目
Checking of the introductory paragraph. The ideas of general and specific should be grasped by the students in this process. Critical thinking.

第13回目
Writing a full essay and the correction of essays written by the students in terms of grammar and the structure of the paragraph
The process of rewriting Students will rewrite their essays. Critical thinking.

第14回目
Completion of the final essay Students will be required to complete the five-paragraph essay after correcting the mistakes pointed out by the instructor. Critical thinking.

第15回目
Students turn in at least three essays. Students turn in at least three essays. Congratulate yourself on the completion!
