授業の概要
This course, conducted in English, will help students develop their English writing skills and apply them to self-chosen goals. The first half of the course will focus on basics of the writing process: pre-writing, drafting, revising and editing. The second half of the course will focus on student-selected projects. Students will often work in groups. A relaxed, supportive atmosphere will be encouraged.

到達目標
Goals of this course are to (1) sharpen writing skills; (2) learn strategies for approaching a writing assignment, and (3) produce a writing portfolio matched to each student's interests. This course is especially suitable for students who hope to use English in non-academic situations after graduation.

Course Organization Syllabus, introductions: Interviewing a partner, practicing taking notes, using vocabulary for writing about yourself, writing without worrying about grammar. Bring text and materials

第2回目
Writing Assignment #1 Using specific information to add interest, making lists, using lists to write about yourself; beginning a first draft Due: ID card with photo and contact info.

第3回目
Writing Assignment #1 Revising and editing your composition; beginning a second draft Due: first draft of Assigment #1

第4回目
Writing Assignment #1 and #2 Share second drafts with a partner; prepare for assignment #2;
review of paragraphs; read tourist guide samples Due: second draft of Assignment 1

第5回目
