第5回目 | What’s my horror scope? | Focus on if conditionals: Students will predict each other’s fortunes; If you study hard this term, you will get straight A’s. | |
第6回目 | Food Glorious Food. | Focus on comparatives: Which sushi is better? tastier? Tastiest?Which is least tasty? | |
第7回目 | Restaurants: Fast and Fastidious? | Focus on ordering in restaurants/show when polite and less polite forms are used. | |
第8回目 | Food preparation: Let’s make Omochi! | Focus on critical thinking tasks of measurements: students will translate Japanese recipes into English using imperative forms and will convert from the metric to the American standard of measurement. | |

第11回目 | Staying healthy in life. | Focus on subject-verb-object (active sentences versus passive). I drink fresh juice. I go to bed early. Stress that active forms are more desirable than are passive sentences in certain contexts. | |
