授業の概要
This course concentrates on the type of communicative English that non-native English speakers are likely to need when travelling abroad. The course book - Passport - covers a variety of common 'survival situations' travellers may encounter in English-speaking countries, such as USA, Britain and Australia. Students follow the fortunes of several Japanese characters as they travel abroad. Through a series of listening and concept-checking tasks, they are introduced to the language practice dialogues in pairs, study a model conversation and then create their own conversations based on similar situations. The course book also deals with a number of cultural issues and includes practical hints and background notes on each unit which students will use to improve their English speaking ability, communicative competency and fluency and prepare them for the many exciting challenges that foreign travel brings
