In this class, students will undertake intensive discussion on a variety of challenging topics and be introduced to communication strategies and simplified debating procedures, aimed at helping them develop effective oral communication skills as well as the ability to analyze complex issues.
Among the topics to be covered are: International Trade, Ethnocentrism, International Travel and Tourism, World Organizations, International Law, the Environment, International Education, Gender, World Religions, and Genetic Engineering.
The style of this class is very student-centered and interactive, featuring small group discussion, reporting back to the whole class, and evaluation by the students themselves as well as by the teacher.
Note: Although this class may appear serious and difficult, it will also be challenging, stimulating, interesting, and sometimes even fun!
