授業の概要
      This will be an ENGLISH-ONLY class; speaking English both in pair discussions and when interacting within the larger group. Students who are not confident in the fluency or accuracy of their spoken English are very welcome in this class. A desire to speak and willingness to work on fluency is important. Students will be asked to share their responses to the issues and respond to the opinions and insights of others.

      Language fluency requires an ability to act or react in many unexpected situations. In Pair Discussions, students will deal with unexpected twists and turns in communication and will develop strategies for such situations.

      Independence Which allows students to learn and use English on their own.

      Interaction which allows students to work with others.

      Integration which allows students to incorporate knowledge from other language studies into real communication ability

      Students should prepare for discussion by reading textbook material. Students will also be asked to write a personal response on related topics. This homework will be used in class by the students as a support and focus as they discuss the topic-in English. Handouts and homework are to be collected in a portfolio file.
      The teacher's and student's evaluation of attitude, effort, and classroom participation will be the basis of decideing grades, along with the portfolio of work and quizzes.
