授業の概要 |
Goal (Reading): Readings in core texts are supplemented by authentic texts in selected topic areas. Attention is directed to various discoursestructures of written English. Out-of-class readings include both ESL and authentic material.
Goal (Writing): Students practice writing through the use of journals and responses to readings with attention to paragraph and essaystructure. Students are introduced to academic writing, e.g. short essays, library reports, definitions, etc. Attention is drawn to discourse structures in various types of writing.
Goal(Listening and Speaking): Students focus on functional language use in relation to topics and situations found in core texts. Students are also introduced to oral presentation skills related to familiar topics. Listening is further practiced out of class with both graded ESL and authentic material.
