授業の概要
The main research question we will be asking in this course is "What are the main differences and similarities between domestic and international business?" Graduate students may examine this from different angles (e.g., strategy, finance, operations, marketing, etc.). In answering this question, graduate students must present (1) a clear research problem, (2) hypotheses and (3) research methodology.

到達目標
Graduate students will be asked to review research on their topics in not only Japanese but also other languages. They will also learn the basic concepts and methodologies in conducting comparative research. Finally they must be able to marshall the facts and defend their position on any issue.

問題意識 Review of the literature --> Why is your research topic important? What are the different explanations for an issue? What is you position?

原因結果 Identifying causal factors --> levels of analysis, ecological fallacy

仮説 What is a hypothesis?--> examining the relationships between the dependent variable and independent variables

理論開発 Theory building --> null hypothesis, directional hypothesis, non-directional hypothesis --> interrelated set of constructs formed into propositions or hypotheses explaining natural phenomena
